A dozen of us made the journey to the Dream, accompanied as you can see from the pictures, some fantastic sunny weather. Very nice route, using the Sankey Valley Trail, part of the Trans Pennine Trail and several interlinking sections of quiet road. Had a brief excursion through the site of the former Bold Colliery, they have landscaped it a similar fashion to the Three Sisters, even has its own lake, didn’t get to see it though, whoever was leading took a wrong turn (not for the first time that day I might add) and missed it out completely. There is one there, honest! No takers when we reached Carr Mill for a coffee in the Waterside or a pint in the Masons so we didn’t get to do the scenic route back over the fields. (cowards all of you).
Hope to do the ride again in the coming weeks. probably in the opposite direction, will call that one The Maerd! (work that one out).
