Quite a decent turnout of 18 for our first longer ride of the year, weather was kind considering the conditions leading up to the day. Rather uneventful apart really from the obligatory puncture of course and the surprise in store following our lunch stop. Cafe was closed in Worsley so the Moorings became our venue of choice and all went well until we reached the East Lanc’s, for the flatish final jaunt back to Wigan. The wind had picked up while we were dining and of course it was a headwind, is it ever anything else. The flat ride back seemed anything but with even the undulating nature of the A580 seeming more like Shaley Brow. Everyone made it back safely though after enjoying the nice little workout to shed the January cobwebs, 35 miles in total and as usual some great company along the way.
