Home > Outings > Grange Valley

It had to happen eventually, for the first time in months it actually rained on one of our Three Sisters rides, well sort of, it was drizzle if truth be known. The mud more than made up for it though, thats going to take some getting used to again, all part and parcel of riding off-road I suppose. Seventeen of us on this one, headed over to Sankey Valley through Newton-le-Willows, across to Earlestown and for a slight change of scenery over to Grange Valley in Haydock. Made our way back via Pewfall, Garswood & Landgate Lane (thats where most of the mud was). Seventeen miles covered including a few of those insidious hills yet again (think we’ll make it the word of the week) never knew they existed until yesterday!

Thanks for coming everyone, see you all on the next outing!

Plenty pre-ride conversations going on, quite few adopting the Roy pose as well.

Always great fun no matter what the weather, thanks to Paul and all the team 🙂

  • Thelma says:

Both rides good and enjoyable but certainly felt the effect towards the end of Tuesdays ride – many thanks to those that spurred me on those last few miles -rewarded myself with half price massage at the gym today – felt I’d earned it ! Thanks Jim and Paul – very much appreciated ! Know for a fact would not be going out cycling on my own like I did in the summer – certainly keeping me active – Cheers !

Echo Phil’s comments about the mud, also got the hose-pipe out when I got home. Good job Roy wasn’t present he would have had something to say about the sh..ty ride.
But despite that another great ride.

  • Phil B says:

Thoroughly enjoyed both Monday and Tuesday’s ride with aching thigh muscles to prove it.
Thought I had got away from cleaning the bike until Landgate Lane, so out came the hose pipe once again.
    All good fun!
    Thanks Jim and Paul
